This week's spelling paragraph is:
I am proud to be an American. In our country, we are free, but in China they are not. We are allowed to choose our friends instead of having them chosen for us. One opportunity we get is to elect a president unlike England who has a monarchy. We are lucky to live in America.
**The focus for spelling this week is comparing and contrasting. We also are working on proper and common nouns.
Next week in reading we will be reading a story called Good-bye, 382 Shin Dang Dong. This is a story about friends that have to move away from each other.
Math will be a continued focus on place value. There has been math homework every night. Please make sure you are checking your student's folder.
Friday we have our big Jog-A-Thon kick off. Please consider becoming a sponsor. This fundraiser helps bring many wonderful programs to Lincoln. Also consider getting donations. Every dollar helps!!! It would be wonderful if room 14 would have 100% support.
Student Week Review is Jewel's:Wow! What a week! First we had our first ladybugs on the wall. Taelor and Makayla are our first ladybugs on the wall. We also have a book fair. At the book fair there's a bunch of books, pointers, and pens. All of us got our song books. We have our first song that we put in it. Then today we had our first fire drill. And today we had the first spelling test. It was the longest one I have ever done. Last night we had Open House but I didn't go. As you can see I had a great week!
