Conference Week! Please remember that conferences start this week and will finish up next week. If you are unable to make your conference, please call 222-5700.
This week we were visited by Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Ober from McNary Dam. These
gentlemen were very informative and had some neat animal mounts they shared with our third grade. Students learned some pretty interesting animal habitat facts. The students wrote thank you letters - it was very exciting seeing what they learned. As we are studying animal habitats in reading, a good website is: http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/

The spelling paragraph is:
Barak Obama’s Road to the Presidency
The road to become president is a long, difficult one. To begin with, you must have your qualifications checked. This means a person must be 35 years old, a United States Citizen, and have lived in the U.S. for 14 years. Next, you must be nominated by the Republican and Democrat parties. After that, candidates advertise and debate hoping to show why they are the best person for the job of president. The first Tuesday of November is election day. People must be 18 years old and a U.S. citizen to vote in an election. Finally, the president is chosen. He or she is sworn into office on January 20th. Clearly, becoming president is not an easy task.

This is a very difficult paragraph. Please make sure you are practicing this at home with your child.
In math, we are finishing up our introduction unit to multiplication and division. Student will need to know their multiplication facts to 5 by spring break. Please make sure you are working on these at home. This is a great website for practicing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division: http://www.learningplanet.com/sam/sm/index.asp
