We Made It!

We completed our first day of 3rd grade today. Thank you for sharing your child with me!

A few things will come home that need to be returned to class. These are:
- 1/2 sheet with signature understanding district and school policies
- 1/2 sheet with signature understanding classroom policies
- green card with contact information ... only fill in the top portion

In case you have forgotten, I need to collect $5 from each child for our Time For Kids subscription. Also, each child needs a chair bag to store their materials. Please try to get these to me as soon as possible.

Your child should be able to explain the blue reading calendar. This DOES need to come back to school each day. I'd like to have students read AT LEAST 20 minutes per night. Please write down whatever you read and initial. They need to come prepared to take an AR test the following day.

Our specials are the following:
Mondays - PE
Tuesdays - Library (please bring books back every week)
Wednesdays - Music
Thursdays - PE
Fridays - Music

If you have any questions, I can be reached from 8:00 - 3:30 at 222-5700. Don't forget Wednesdays are early releases - 1:55.

Directions for Making a Chair Bag

1. Choose a fabric. You need 48 inches long by 15 inches wide.
2. Fold the fabric "right" side on the inside. Stitch 2 sides.
3. Turn "right" side out. Fold raw edge in about 1/2 an inch. Stitch the bottom.
4. Fold 12 inches down and stitch.
5. Flip over. Repeat step 4.
6. You will have something that has a S shape and will slide over the back of the chair to provide a pocket for your student's folder, misc. papers, and poetry / song book.
